The gallery is hosting one special event for the public before the Grand Opening, which is our All About Youth Day, taking place on September 29. With two separate events for Tweens and Teens, youth will feel at home in their new gallery with lots of fun and imaginative art inspired events.
Ben Skinner, SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE, 2012.
All About Youth - TWEEN
Starting in the morning with our All About Youth - Tween event for ages, 7-12, our awesome activities tap into the imaginative mood of Ben Skinner's exhibition, SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE, featured throughout the gallery. We will have a huge assortment of colourful marshmallows to make a giant, collaborative, marshmallow castle. Half card-castle, half best snack time ever! There are no limits to this creative project.
Animators will be present in all of the exhibition spaces to entertain mom and dad while their budding artist assembles. Registration for this event is required.

All About Youth - TEEN
When the lights go down, the music turns up and the Judith & Norman ALIX Art Gallery will turn into the coolest party in town with our All About Youth Day - Teen event, for ages 13-18.
Kicking off with tours of the exhibitions in the gallery spaces, teens will have the opportunity to make a huge marshmallow castle, based around the imaginative displays in the gallery, designed by Ben Skinner.
At 8:30pm, music will echo throughout the building as the lights turn on and speakers turn up. With Youtube parties and DJ's playing, the streets will be illuminated with a light and sound bonanza in the main lobby. Throughout the night the new technological abilities of the gallery will also be demonstrated.
This event will also feature a performance by Chemical Valley Sessions, who will play us through the evening with his electronic beats and awesome light show. Click here to find out more about our featured performer.
This is one party you won't want to miss!
The event requires pre-registration, and is for ages 13 - 18
Visit our new website www.jnaag.ca to register for both events!
