JNAAG Lands 'Masterworks from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery'

Have you heard our HUGE exhibition news?!?

On Friday, August 2, Lambton County Warden Todd Case, MPP Bob Bailey, local politicians, gallery members and local artists joined us to share the news that the JNAAG has been selected as one of the locations on the North American tour of 'Masterworks from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery.' The Fredericton-based provincial gallery boasts one of the finest and most important holdings of British art in North America.

The JNAAG  is the only regional art gallery selected to participate in the tour.

Pictured is Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey, who was on hand to speak about the benefits of hosting such a prestigious exhibition in Lambton County.

The exhibition will be on display to the public at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery from September 23, 2015 through January 3, 2016 and includes 75 masterworks from the permanent collection of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, including British paintings and drawings from the Georgian and Modern periods, seminal Canadian works and an international collection including Salvador Dalί's 'Santiago El Grande.'

Organized and circulated by the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, with the support of the Museums Assistance Program at Canadian Heritage, presenting sponsor TD bank Group and supporting sponsor McInnes Cooper, the exhibition presents the remarkable legacy of the multi-millionaire business tycoon, newspaper publisher, politician, personal confidant of Sir Winston Churchill, and great philanthropist, Lord Beaverbrook, or Sir William Maxwell (Max) Aitken (1879-1964).
