Choose YOUR Favourite Works in Lambton Loves Art - New Crowd-Sourced Project

Lambton County has rich history of collecting Canadian art, and now YOU have the opportunity to choose what's on display in JNAAG's first Crowd Sourced exhibition, Lambton Loves Art.

From March 7 to May 5,  are encouraged to visit www.lambtonlovesart.ca and vote from forty pieces of art pulled from the gallery's permanent collection.  The pieces that get the most votes will secure a spot in the exhibition.
The paintings will be grouped into four categories - landscape, portraiture, abstraction and urban-scape - the public will be able to choose between works by some of Canada's most well-known artists including: Emily Carr, Joseph Hallam, William Kurelek, Lawren Harris and Tom Thomson.  Visitors to the website are encouraged to vote more than once and to visit the site often as the selection will change twice a week.

The first two selections for Lambton Loves Art:
Top: Nelson Surette, Dory Mates. Date unknown
oil on board, 91.5 x 152.4 cm, Gift of Peter G. and Carol T. Hamilton, 2012.

Bottom: Joseph Francis Plaskett, Table at Night: Patrick and Sue, 1979
Oil on canvas. 78 x 118 cm, Purchased with a matching Wintario Grant, Ontario, 1982

This is a new, creative and fun ways to bring the community into a dynamic relationship with its incredible permanent art collection. The gallery currently houses a permanent collection of over 1,100 works that tell the continuing story of Canadian historical and contemporary art in our community.
Then on June 27, see the exhibition you helped create, when Lambton Loves Art opens to the public!  To cast a vote visit www.lambtonlovesart.ca  Be sure to visit the site often, as selections will change twice a week.
